Medals are difficult to recycle because they are made of different metals, and they are not accepted by curbside pickup programs. But there are several organizations that take your medals and repurpose them.

You can donate your earned marathon, half-marathon, or triathlon medal to the organization Medals4Mettle, where they will use your medal to add it to their signature ribbons and give it to children and adults fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Be sure to remove the ribbon on your medal!
