Laminated Paper

Method: Trash

The Reason

Although laminated paper contains paper as well as plastic, the merging of the two during the lamination process makes them not recyclable.

Water is used to decompose the recycling of paper and unfortunately the laminate keeps water from soaking the paper.

The Alternative

Instead of laminating paper, consider using plastic sleeves as the two items can be recycled separately.

Separable Lamination

NoW is a company that stands for no-waste technology. It manufactures a lamination technology that allows the laminated products to be easily recycled.

There is a water-soluble layer present between the plastic and the paper that enables their separation for recycling.
