Ink Cartridge

Method: Recycle

The Reason

Ink cartridges are made of a complex blend of plastic, metal, foam, ink, and toner, making them very hard to separate.
Although ink cartridges are recyclable, they cannot be tossed in your regular curbside bin. Inkjet cartridges can be dropped off at local recycling centers and multiple stores.

How to Recycle

  • Office supply stores like Staples or Office Depot accept inkjet cartridges
  • Ink cartridges can be recycled at designated kiosks at Walmart, Target, and Best Buy
  • Empty ink cartridges can be mailed to the original manufacturer (HP, Brother, Canon, Xerox, Panasonic, Samsung, etc.)
  • Cartridges can be recycled with a third-party recycling facility (Clover Environmental, Evolve Recycling, Cartridges for Kids)
