  • Just place your old books in the curbside recycling bin.
  • For paperback books, you can recycle the book whole including the binding into your paper recycling bin.
  • For hardcover books, you'll need to remove the cover because it has non-paper components.

  • Trade your book - you can use special media to find other people from your are who might be interested. You can also use a website called Paperback Swap. Their users make a list of books they want to share and request any book they want to read themselves. ​
  • Sell your books - Consider selling old books at a yard sale or to a bookstore that sells used books. There are also online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, or AbeBooks.

  1. Local library - Contact your local library and ask them what books they need. 
  2. Goodwill - Drop off your books at your local Goodwill
  3. Better World Book- The Better World Books Support Team will schedule the pick up within 1 business day. The books are then sorted and sold to fund literacy initiatives worldwide.
