Method: Recycle
The Reason
An aerosol can is recyclable because it is made of aluminum or steel. Due the pressurized air inside, it is important to follow specific instructions to avoid any dangers.

How to RecycleRemove the cap on the aerosol can: because the cap is plastic and the can is metal, the two materials cannot be recycled in the same way. Recycle the plastic separately.
Make sure that the aerosol can is completely empty. If not, the can might explode. And do not try to crush or flatten the can yourself – leave it to the experts at the recycling center! Completely used and empty aerosol cans can be recycled normally along with other materials such as paper and bottles. If there are remaining contents in an aerosol can, make sure to dispose of it at your local household hazardous waste If you still have pesticide or other household chemicals in an aerosol and need to dispose of it, find your local household hazardous waste. |
